Sorry it has been awhile since my last entry. The farm has been extra busy this summer. We have had many visitors this summer as well as the 7 new calves born that were born this year so my computer time has been limited. We named our calves Quagmire, Patch, Socks, Angus, Tbone, Cloe and Victoria. As soon as I can figure out how I will post more pictures.
Unfortunately Victoria’s mom didn’t survive her birth so she has been our little orphan calf that we have spent the last 3 months bottle feeding. The children love to help with this task, much more than they enjoy helping with our organic garden. (Can’t blame them Victoria is much cuter than the weeds that need pulling) My 3 year old granddaughter is my only real consistent help with the garden, she loves to help me with the garden. Sometimes our biggest help and blessings come in the smallest packages.
This summer has been extremely hot and very dry in this part of NY so we also have been spending alot of time installing fencing in another 10 acres pasture to make sure our cows have plenty to eat with all the dry weather.
Will post more and some pictures as soon as I can.
Peace, and Blessings
